Calling it now, even though CCP usually states that meta-gaming is just a part of the game, and the BoB director was in on it doing work himself, there will be a rollback.

Originally by: Ryoken McKeon As bad as all of this is for BoB, if anyone is the biggest loser here, I'd have to say it's going to be Haargoth Agamar. He'll be known forever as the guy who sold out the most powerful alliance that EVE's yet seen (maybe not anymore, but lets give BoB credit, they were really good for a long time)for basically nothing. That'd be hard to live down, I doubt he feels good about all of this, with all of his friends from BoB knowing what he did. I know I'd feel pretty terrible over this, but then, maybe he didn't have any concept of loyalty or conscience to begin with.
On another note entirely: Goons, you guys did good. I never really gave you a chance at winning the big war, but you fellas did it. Grats.
Pretty sure hargoth is a goon hero with his choice of the 6,000 virgins in goonswarm. |

I like the references to the batman hotline and the "Batman hotmail" to get a GM to fix all their problems instantly.
Pretty sure theres no going back since hargoth himself did it. |

Originally by: Mecinia Lua Congrats to Goonswarm if this is legit and it seems to be. I seem to get snowbound at work on the best days it seems.
However that still leaves -A- and its allies as well as the former BoB Bloc alliances. A Major Victory but the war might not be over yet.
I wonder what BoB will reform as, Sons of Bob (SOB), might have a nice ring.
Yeah the bob bloc and -A- are totally going to pass on claiming so many regions and moons that are dropping sov. They will heroically defend BoB. Yep. |

I do hope CCP comes out with a video blog on this...
As to the EVE community being destroyed by Goons... I believe that Goons should beware lest they become the new BoB. This rot was internal and being on top has a tendency to let you get stabbed in the back (for all of you who like being on top and have a few enemies that know a few assassins, this is a useful fact).
I don't think you "get" goons. Like literally you don't, not just the catchphrase.

But I don't give goonswarm more than 6 months to live now.
BoB or ex-BoB or whatever they will be called will be gunning for Goonswarm.
You might have taken the Sov and the Jump bridge network but thier Titan's, POS'es ships and Ammo is still in thier hands.
You have not destroyed thier alt network, that pours billions into thier coffers every week from empire sales.
They still have thier corp BPO's.
They still have thier skills and the best PvP pilots in the game.
Mittani, I tip my hat to you for this deed.
But I think its the last nail in Goons coffin.
Every Member and not to mention those that retired from BoB and it's leadership are going to be angry and eager for goon pods.
Cya.
HOLY CRAP GUYS OH NO THEY'RE COMIN' FOR US NOW
That fight was just pretend, I'm going to REALLY fight now

Don't unleash BoBs REAL force. Everything until now was just a planned game. Don't REALLY make them mad. Don't you dare.

Director of BoB executor corp decided to disband the alliance and move to GoonSwarm. Simple enough for you?
Yeah thats fine I just thought a Director wouldnt have that kind of right, doesn't really eam logical a director cant disband a corp how can they disband an alliance?
I myself am ex-bob (from years ago) and the reason I left then was that they were starting to take the game to serious, were being unreasonable about people having to go to there job and not make the op. So I can understand why the Guy left... but to do all that I mean he must have had some friends in the alliance? Then again it all depends on how much is on the tabe aswell :P
I don't know about you but I would screw my entire corp for very little payout and I actually like some of them. If we were important i'm sure someone would capitalize on that. |

Originally by: Pimparella it will be very interesting to see how CCP reacts on that. to disband and wipe a whole alliance out of their space on this way is more an exploit than anything else. this will affect a large number of players and it will define how the ppl will see the game.
freedom is good. but borderless freedom will bring you back to the stoneage.
Not exactly an exploit if they have approved multiple times in the past scamming and spies as "part of the game that is eve"
The BoB disband was done with game mechanics, by a member who was given the ability to do what he did by BoB. There is no way shape or form an exploit of any kind.

It is within the mechanics of the game though. CCP can't really afford the PR hit to change the mechanics and save BoB with the box set hitting stores in march. To many have been disbanded by failing to pay fees, spies etc in the past. What you might see would be a change in mechanics in the future where it takes a vote rather than one click.
I have no doubt that the various BoB corps will reform into a new alliance. Whether they all go along can't say, but I doubt its the end of them.
That and when BoB was using "Game Mechanics" to bubble inside poses and **** with hostile capfleets, loses weren't given back they justpatched the game to change it in the future.
Yeah whatever, the ability for someone to disband an alliance may be stupid, but hey its there, now they have a reason to fix it.
